PSG 'join transfer race for Kalvin Phillips' and other Man City rumours

PSG have reportedly entered the race to sign Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips this winter.

Phillips is on the verge of departing the Etihad Stadium in January after failing to establish himself at the club. Pep Guardiola signed the former Leeds United man in the summer of 2022 but the midfielder has discovered he is firmly second choice behind Rodri.

Last year, Guardiola insinuated to reporters a move away from City was the best option for all involved and apologised to the England international for his lack of opportunities. Since then, a host of clubs have been linked with Phillips including; Newcastle United, Everton and Juventus.

However, according to Caught Offside, the Parisians are the latest club to throw their hat into the ring. PSG are on the lookout for a midfielder to strengthen their squad after a move for Corinthians' Gabriel Moscardo hit the rocks.

It is understood any approach from PSG is not a priority for the Ligue 1 giants meaning they are an outsider in the Phillips pursuit. Elsewhere, Saudi Arabian journalist Nawaf Al-Aqeel understands Kevin De Bruyne is a target for the Saudi Pro League's newest club Al-Qadisiyah.

The Belgian playmaker has been consistently one of City's best players since he joined the club in 2015 and has been a big loss this campaign due to injury. De Bruyne had an ongoing muscular issue in 2023 but made his return to the bench at the weekend in the victory over Sheffield United.

Unsurprisingly, considering their enormous wealth, Al-Qadisiyah are open to pursuing a deal for De Bruyne but it is expected any arrival is only likely in the summer.
