Promotion odds as Nottingham Forest face Huddersfield Town in Championship play-off final

The countdown to Nottingham Forest's Championship play-off final appearance has entered its final 24 hours.

The Reds take on Huddersfield Town at Wembley Stadium on Sunday (May 29) with Steve Cooper in the best position yet to end Forest's 23-year exodus from England's top flight. After an incredibly dramatic play-off semi-final victory over Sheffield United, Forest must now beat Huddersfield in a one-off fixture at the National Stadium in order to win promotion.

Bookies Sky Bet currently have Forest as favourites (6/5) to win the game over 90 minutes. Huddersfield to win without extra-time or penalties is priced at 12/5.

Forest are the favourites to win the tie outright during 90 minutes, extra-time or a penalty shoot-out with odds of 4/7 whilst the Terriers have been priced at 5/4. The bookies are also expecting a fairly close game from the two attacking sides with a positive 'Both Team To Score' bet available at odds of 4/5.

Forest have been backed for glory throughout the play-off campaign. "Forest I just have a feeling about because of how well they have done to get to this position. There are a lot of teams arriving in good form, though. Huddersfield have been magnificent. If I'm to be pushed for one then I'd back Nottingham Forest."

In April, Sky Sports pundit Sue Smith defiantly predicted success for Forest. She said: “I definitely think Fulham and Nottingham Forest.
