‘Promotion bus fired up’ – Many Birmingham fans react as club strike transfer agreement with Rangers
Birmingham City have confirmed the signing of Rangers midfielder Juninho Bacuna via their club website.
Arriving as the club’s fourth signing of the January transfer window, the 24-year-old has joined for an undisclosed fee in a permanent move to St Andrew’s.
The Dutch-born central midfielder came through the youth ranks at Groningen, before breaking into the first-team at the Eredivisie outfit and playing an integral role during the club’s 2017/18 campaign.
Bacuna then swapped Netherlands’ top-flight for the Premier League in 2018, joining Huddersfield Town during the campaign where they were relegated back to the Championship.
Spending a further couple of seasons with the Terriers, the 24-year-old joined Scottish giants Rangers in the summer, however, he has found regular first team football hard to come by at Ibrox.
Bacuna has been restricted to just 12 appearances this season, with just six of those coming in the league and he has also been restricted to just two starts.
Operating as a central midfielder, Bacuna can also operate slightly more advanced, whilst he has also displayed that he can play in holding role when necessary.
Here, we take a look at how Birmingham fans on Twitter have reacted to the news of the club’s latest arrival…
