"Pretty obvious" - Journalist hints Tottenham want to offload 91-game ace "as soon as possible"

Tottenham want Tanguy Ndombele‘s future at the club resolved “as quickly as possible”, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The £31.5m-rated midfielder has spent the second half of this season on loan at former club Lyon, but the France international is expected to return to Spurs.

Having fallen out of favour under Antonio Conte and only started one game in his first three months at the club, the 25-year-old returned to Lyon to improve his chances of getting regular minutes.

That has proved the case, with Ndombele scoring once and laying on two assists in his 14 matches in Ligue 1 and the Europa League: his only goal coming back in London against West Ham.

But the Frenchman is set to return to Hotspur Way once his loan runs out, although Football Insider believe that Ndombele will be told to train alone once he’s back in north London, with Lyon not expected to activate the option to buy that was included in his loan move in January.

Ndombele was training on his own prior to his January exit, and the report states that a repeat is on the cards once he’s back at Tottenham.

And with Ndombele not in Conte’s plans ahead of next season, O’Rourke reckons that Spurs will want his future decided sooner rather than later.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It’s not an ideal situation for anybody involved in this. Ndombele doesn’t really figure in Spurs’ plans going forward, that’s pretty obvious after being sent out on loan to Lyon.

“I think Tottenham will want to sort out his future as quickly as possible, they don’t want any distractions.”
