"Pretty likely he's gone" - Journalist drops big Everton exit claim involving £40m ace

Dele Alli will leave Everton this summer if he doesn’t break into the team before the end of the season, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The 37-cap England international joined the Toffees on loan in January, but he’s yet to start a game for Frank Lampard’s side.

When Alli made the winter switch to Goodison Park, he would have been hoping to get his career back on track following some difficult times at Tottenham in the last couple of years.

Alli had started just 15 Premier League games in his final 18 months in North London and had fallen out of favour under Antonio Conte.

Initially, his Toffees career got off to a good start when he played 65 minutes on his debut at Newcastle, even though he wasn’t able to stop the Merseysiders from slipping to a 3-1 defeat.

But the 25-year-old has been unable to kick on from there, making just a further five substitute appearances and was completely overlooked by Lampard for their recent victory over Newcastle.

Lampard’s decision paid off as Alex Iwobi secured a stoppage-time victory, but more than two months into his Everton stint, Alli is still waiting for his first start.

TEAMtalk recently reported that Everton are already exploring the possibility of moving Alli on this summer before they’re required to pay up to £40m for him, and Jones reckons that the midfielder will be “gone” if he doesn’t get into the team.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “If he’s not in the team by the end of the season, it’s pretty likely he’s gone.”
