Preston North End 2-1 Swansea City: Second-half collapse costs Swans first win of the season

Michael Duff's remains without a first league win as Swansea City boss, after a second-half capitulation condemned his side to a 2-1 defeat at Preston North End.

Harrison Ashby's first ever senior goal capped off a fine first half oozing with positives for the visitors, who are yet to pick up a point on the road so far this season.

But Preston improved after the break, and responded through goals from Andrew Hughes and Duane Holmes, compounding a difficult week for the Swans, who lost Joel Piroe to Leeds United on Thursday.

Getting a new striker on board is clearly a big priority heading into the final week of the window, and their inability to kill this game off after such a promising start will only further underline that point to Duff, who will feel frustrated to see three points slip through the fingers of his side.

He may yet have other players to replace. Nathan Wood remains a target for Southampton, although he did start for the Swans in Lancashire.
