Premier League have given Man City two advantages over Liverpool FC as title race takes new turn

Jurgen Klopp knew the score when asked about the significance of Liverpool's win over Leeds on Wednesday.

The 6-0 victory moved Liverpool to within three points of Manchester City, with both sides having played the same amount of games for the first time in weeks. Liverpool have now gained six points on City in two games having seen the Blues lose against Tottenham on Saturday.

However, Klopp made the valid point that Liverpool will quickly regain their game in hand at the weekend as City travel to Everton and they compete at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final.

And while Klopp incorrectly suggested City play first the following weekend to potentially re-open a nine-point gap, City do hold an advantage with the fixture list when it comes to the scheduling of games for both sides.
