Prediction for Shakhtar Donetsk vs Celtic: Bhoys can gain crucial Champions League win in Ukraine

Check out our 6/5 prediction for Shakhtar Donetsk vs Celtic below

Shakhtar's stunning 4-1 win in Leipzig has piled the pressure on Celtic who sit bottom of Group F after an their 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid on matchday one.

But the landscape of Group F could change again this week because this is a fixture that Celtic can win - indeed they are 6/5 favourites to do just that with Betway, who make the hosts 21/10 chances to follow up last week's unexpected victory.

The scoreline against Madrid was ultimately emphatic but Ange Postecoglou's side deserve huge credit for the way they took the game to the Spanish giants in the first period and, granted a touch more luck, Celtic could easily have gone into the break a goal to the good.

A trip to Shakhtar is a very different challenge for the Bhoys, but it's one that they shouldn't fear. This is a side that lost European matches against the likes of FC Sheriff and Monaco last season, as well as conceding in both games against Belgian side Genk. And, while the hosts come into this on a winning run, they needed a 90th minute strike from Oleh Ocheretko to take all three points from their game with Odessa on Saturday.

Since an opening weekend draw at Metalist 1925 Kharkiv, Shakhtar have strung together four straight wins but they were heavily flattered by the 4-1 scoreline against Leipzig in the Red Bull Arena last week.

Roberto De Zerbi's side registered just five shots in that fixture, four of which were on target - it is most unusual for a side to score with all four shots that they have on target. Furthermore, they were beaten in the xG battle on the night and it is almost unheard of for a side to win by that margin yet not come away with the superior xG total.
