Leicester City are weighing up an offer for Middlesbrough midfielder Marcus Tavernier, it has once again been claimed.

As per 90MIN, Boro have rejected offers from Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth for the 23-year-old and now Leicester are considering an approach.

That report backs up our FLW exclusive last week, which reported that Leicester were one of numerous top-flight sides considering making an offer for the player.

With Brendan Rodgers eyeing a move, we asked our writers here at FLW for their thoughts on whether or not the 23-year-old could emerge as a starter for the Foxes if he made the move there

When you look at Leicester’s side, they do look well stacked in the central midfield department.

However, only one of their current options, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, is left-footed.

That would give Tavernier an immediate advantage over some of Leicester’s current options, and could see him compete with Dewsbury-Hall for a place in the side.

I’d favour Dewsbury-Hall to get the starting role, but as time went on, and Tavernier gained more top-flight experience, there is no reason he couldn’t stake a real claim for that starting spot.

Indeed, in Dewsbury-Hall and Tavernier, the Foxes would have some very decent options for the left side of their central midfield.

Marcus Tavernier would be a good signing for Leicester this summer.
