Police tape off town centre after man's body is found
Police are investigating after a man was found dead in the centre of Prestwich early today.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene near to the Longfield Centre shortly after 7am on Monday morning.
The force said the tragedy followed reports of a concern for the welfare of a man at the Radius Building off Fairfax Road in the centre of Prestwich, off Bury New Road.
The man hasn't been named and no age for him has been given either.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service were also called to the incident.
A scene remained in place today outside the Croma and Panama Hatty's restaurants off Fairfax Road, part of the Radius Building near to Farmfoods and the public car park.
GMP confirmed officers were first alerted at 7am this morning.
