Police swarm estate after reports of 'suspicious item' - updates
Police have taped off a residential estate in Bury following reports of a 'suspicious item'.
A large cordon is in place and emergency services are at the scene in Chesham Road.
Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a 'suspicious item' at an address in the area at around 2.40pm today (May 10).

Officers are still working to assess the item. An ambulance has also been seen in attendance.
A GMP spokesperson said: "GMP were called to reports of a suspicious item at an address on Chesham Road, Bury, at around 2.40pm today.
"Officers are on scene and work is currently ongoing to assess the item."

An army bomb disposal vehicle is at the scene. There are also four ambulance incident response vehicles in attendance.
The M.E.N. understands two fire engines and a technical rescue unit have also just arrived at the scene in Chesham Road.
This drone footage shows the area that's been taped off. Chesham Road is closed from the junction with Walmersley Road.
Bury council has warned people to avoid the area due to the ongoing incident.
