Moment teenagers become involved in huge brawl at the Printworks in scenes of chaos as police swarm area

Video footage has shown the moment that scenes of chaos erupted at the Printworks in Manchester city centre on Monday night (May 27).

A huge police response was called out to the entertainment complex after a brawl involving teenagers broke out, with large groups of youths being broken up and escorted away from the area.

The 'large-scale fight' erupted outside the Cargo club on Withy Grove at around 8.50pm. Police have confirmed a group of teens became involved in the brawl, with an investigation now underway.

Clips posted online by user @Madd_manneh and shared with the Manchester Evening News showed huge crowds of teenagers being moved away from the Printworks in the aftermath.

A large police presence, including TAU officers, descended on the incident and blocked off the road towards Shudehill. A number of police vans could be seen responding to the unfolding violence.

Teenagers could be seen and heard shouting and filming the chaos on their mobile phones. Police have not confirmed if anybody was injured in the incident.

According to ticket website Skiddle, an under-16s event was being held at Cargo club at the time the fight escalated on the street. The 'Summer Pre Party' event was due to start at 5pm.

A spokesperson for the Printworks said bosses would be 'working very closely' with Cargo 'to ensure this type of event does not take place again'.
