Police stop wrecked car still being driven on roads in Bolton
Police could barely believe their eyes when they saw this wreck of a motor car in Bolton last night — especially as it was still being driven along a public road.
Not that it took much doing, but officers from Greater Manchester Police's Traffic division caught up with the silver-grey Vauxhall Astra as it was being driven along Halliwell Road, Bolton, late on Saturday night (February 25). They posted the picture on Twitter just before midnight stating: "Believe it or not, this Astra was being driven along Halliwell Rd, Bolton. It briefly failed to stop but the driver gave up (probably just before the car did) and admitted no licence or insurance. Vehicle seized / driver reported to court."
Officers did not disclose if any charges were being considered relating to any possible offences committed in relation to the condition of the car.
The post drew some amused comments, including one from local resident "Chrissie" using the account @thepeachyone. She said: "It's Halliwell Road, I'm not sure what else you expected. It's like Wacky Races through the day!"
Another observer said they were waiting for all the comments to come in claiming that the damage would "buff out with a bit of T-Cut".
