Police launch investigation as British man and woman die after being found on Caribbean beach

Two British pensioners have died after being found on a Caribbean beach. Local police have named a man and a woman whose bodies were found on L'Esterre Paradise Beach, on the Grenadine Island of Carriacou.

The Royal Grenada Police Force says David John Foster, 76, was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor after being found 'lying on the sand'. Police say Rosaline Foster, 77, was taken to Princess Royal Hospital, in Carriacou.

She was examined by a doctor in the hospital, but was sadly pronounced dead. The pair were both found on the beach on Saturday, March 9.

Officers were called out to the scene. The Royal Grenada Police Force says an investigation into the deaths is underway.

A post-mortem is due to be conducted to determine the pair's cause of death. Enquiries are ongoing.
