Police issue warning to Nottingham Forest fans over drinking alcohol at Wembley

Nottinghamshire Police has issued a warning to Nottingham Forest fans over drinking alcohol at Wembley ahead of their season-defining play-off final this weekend. A Tweet posted by NottsPolice Football states that there is a public protection order that means fans cannot drink in the streets around Wembley stadium.

Police issued the warning on behalf of Wembley stadium and Brent Council ahead of their teams final against Huddersfield on Sunday, May 29. The match is set to kick off at 4.30pm with thousands of fans making the trip down south.

Brent Council say that their aim with PSPO's are "to reduce anti-social behaviour in our drinking hot spot areas and also ensure that those who are vulnerable, with alcohol and substance misuse problems are supported." Anyone who breaks a PSPO order could face a fine of up to £1,000, payable within 14 days.

A tweet from NottsPolice Football reads: "Wembley stadium and Brent Council would like NFFC fans to know there is a Public Space Protection Order which means that fans cannot drink in the streets around Wembley. Please familiarise yourself with the info below to avoid any unnecessary issues."
