Police issue fresh plea for information after Manchester United players targeted by Leeds fans

West Yorkshire Police have renewed their appeal for information over Manchester United players being targeted by objects thrown for the crowd during the recent win at Leeds United.

Leeds District CD had previously released 10 CCTV images of suspects they wanted to identify across a number of incidents from the Premier League game A number of suspects have been identified and interviewed, however, officers from the constabulary have asked for the public's help to identify the four remaining individuals in the South Stand.

During the high-profile contest, one of the incidents saw United's Anthony Elanga struck by an object after Fred added to the scoreline. The Sweden international received minor treatment following the flashpoint.

Leeds have stated in February that the CCTV footage had been handed over to the police, who would seek to arrest the individuals as well as lifetime bans being imposed for anyone who had been found guilty. A spokesperson for the club said, as per The Times: "Leeds United are reviewing CCTV footage and we will do everything possible to find those supporters who are throwing objects onto the field of play.

"Any supporter caught throwing objects on to the pitch will be issued a lifetime ban from attending our fixtures," they concluded. The Football Association (FA) launched an investigation following the incident.
