Police incident closes main Cardiff road - live updates

A main Cardiff road has been closed following an incident. South Wales Police were called to the A48 near the University Hospital of Wales at around 8pm on Sunday, January 15.

The A48 Eastern Avenue has been closed in both directions while emergency services attend. It is understood that the incident is on-going. A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "Officers are currently in attendance on the A48 near the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. Road closures are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area."

According to traffic service Inrix, the incident affects the A470 at Gabalfa Interchange to Western Avenue near the hospital.
