Police incident closes Cardiff road and man airlifted to hospital - live updates

A road in Cardiff has been closed following a suspected assault. South Wales Police has confirmed their officers are currently at the scene of an incident, which occurred on Hansen Street in Cardiff city centre at approximately 9am today.

The police force has confirmed that a man has been airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales with serious injuries. According to the force, an investigation into the incident, which is suspected to be an assault, is now underway.

A police cordon has been set up and Hansen Street has been closed, with motorists advised to use alternative routes.
