FA Cup 5th round draw in full as Man Utd, Newcastle United and Cardiff City learn their fate
Cardiff City have drawn Premier League Aston Villa in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The Bluebirds defeated Stoke City at the weekend. The scores were locked at 3-3 after 120 minutes, but the Welsh capital city club managed to win on penalties to progress through to round five for the first time in 11 years.
And the tie, which will be played across the first weekend of March, will see the Bluebirds travel to the Midlands for an away trip to Villa Park. Given the stage we are at in the competition, City fans were clamouring for perhaps a slightly easier tie, but, as Omer Riza has said, if you want to win the FA Cup, you're going to have to come up against the top teams at some point.
Unai Emery's Villa are enjoying a positive season this year, currently sitting eighth in the Premier League.
Other notable ties see Manchester United take on Fulham and Newcastle United face Brighton in two all-Premier League ties. Manchester City welcome giant-killers Plymouth Argyle, who knocked out top-flight leaders Liverpool on the weekend.
