Police descend on the Printworks as huge brawl erupts outside nightclub

Police were called after a huge brawl broke out between a group of teenagers outside a nightclub in the Printworks.

The 'large-scale fight' erupted outside the Cargo club in the entertainment complex on Withy Grove at around 8.50pm last night (Monday, May 27). Police officers were called to the 'disturbance'.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said a group of teens were involved in the brawl. An investigation into the incident is now underway.

According to ticket website Skiddle, an under-16s event was being held at Cargo club at the time the fight escalated on the street. The 'Summer Pre Party' event was due to start at 5pm yesterday.

A spokesperson for the Printworks said bosses would be 'working very closely' with Cargo 'to ensure this type of event does not take place again'. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 8.50pm yesterday (Monday 27 May 2024), we were called to reports of a disturbance at the Printworks on Withy Grove, Manchester.

"It was established that a group of teenagers were involved in a large-scale fight. Enquiries are ongoing at this stage."

Dan Davis, centre manager at Printworks, said: "The safety and experience of our guests is paramount and Printworks does not condone any form of anti-social behaviour. We will be working very closely with Cargo to ensure this type of event does not take place at its venue in the future.

"As always, Printworks will also be supporting GMP to assist them with their ongoing enquiries."

Cargo has also been approached for a comment by the Manchester Evening News.
