Police continue Boggart Hole Clough searches in Stuart Everett murder investigation

Officers have begun their second day searching a north Manchester beauty spot as a murder investigation continues. Greater Manchester Police opened a major search at Boggart Hole Clough yesterday morning (May 16) as a probe into the death of Stuart Everett continues.

The 67-year-old is believed to have died at an house in Winton, Salford, at the end of March. Parts of his body were later found at Kersal Dale on April 4, while further searches have also taken place in Salford.

The Manchester Evening News understands the search at Boggart Hole Clough is expected to take place over the weekend and into next week. Four police cars are parked up at the car park off Charlestown Road this morning (Friday) alongside an officer wellbeing support vehicle.

Detectives are currently in attendance. The cordon appears to have changed since yesterday, with members of the public being allowed to walk between the main Charlestown Road entrance and the boating lake so far this morning, but a wider cordon is in place at the car park.

Boggart Hole Clough is one of three areas where searches were announced yesterday, alongside sites near Walkden and Patricroft railway stations. It's understood those searches are much smaller in scale than the one at Boggart Hole Clough, which was closed in its entirety yesterday.

These three searches follow 'in-depth CCTV and phone data enquiries' by detectives, GMP said yesterday. Tactical Aid Unit, forensics and underwater search officers will be called out to Boggart Hole Clough in the coming days.
