Police called after home and car windows smashed in 'targeted attack'

Police were called to a street in Salford after windows of a home and a car were smashed in a 'targeted attack'.

Officers responded to a 'disturbance' on Dixon Avenue in the Higher Broughton area at around 8pm last night (Tuesday). Police said damage was caused to the windows of a home and a car on the street.

No injuries were reported and the incident was believed to be 'targeted', officers believe.

A cordon was put in place as investigations were found out on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday afternoon, officers had left the scene but broken glass was left strewn across the road.

Anyone with information on the incident should contact Greater Manchester Police. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 8pm last night (Tuesday 28 November 2023) Greater Manchester Police received a report of a disturbance on Dixon Avenue, Salford.

"Officers attended and established that damage had been caused to the windows of a property and a vehicle which is believed to be targeted. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported or sustained.

"A scene remains in place today whilst enquiries continue and anyone with information that may help officers are asked to call 101 quoting incident log 3223 of 28/11/2023. Information can also be shared anonymously via the independent charity – Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
