PlayStation VR 2: Players can expect more than 20 launch games

PlayStation VR 2 will arrive with more than 20 games at launch and that’s according to the manufacturer, Sony itself.

The PlayStation VR first generation is getting a massive power boost. It overhauls in the form of PlayStation VR 2, Sony’s next generation VR device, aiming to take on the likes of Oculus Quest as well as make VR gaming more mainstream.

While the VR console itself is still miles off, the maker has been sharing snippets of information to keep the hype going. The company also showed off short footage of a brand new game set in the Horizon universe called Horizon: Call of the Mountains.

The game is designed from the ground up for PlayStation VR 2 and will take advantage of a lot of the enhanced power and capabilities of the system. However, this won’t be the only game you will have at your disposal when PlayStation VR 2 launches, as Sony has stated that the upcoming VR console will launch with over 20 games.

One of the major roadblocks as to why VR has not seen a mainstream adaptation os the lack of good and engaging games which truly show off how engaging VR games can be. 

With PlayStation VR 2, Sony seems to be addressing this issue as the company intends to release the device with a substantial amount of launch day games. 

The launch games will span across both first-party and third-party titles, Sony said during a business briefing on Thursday. As reported by VGC, SIE president Jim Ryan stated, “right now, there is a considerable amount of money being spent on partnerships with independent and other third-party developers to secure a considerable pipeline of attractive VR content at the launch of PlayStation VR2.”
