PLAYER RATINGS: Bukayo Saka dazzles again as Bruno Fernandes flops

Arsenal earned three vital points in the race for Champions League qualification as they beat Manchester United 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Nuno Tavares, Bukayo Saka and Granit Xhaka all got on the scoresheet as the Gunners moved into fourth spot, six points ahead of United.

Sportsmail's NICK CALLOW rated the players.

ARSENAL (4-2-3-1)

Aaron Ramsdale: A few exceptional saves but some worryingly inconsistent distribution from the back led to United getting some unexpected possession and chances. 7

Cedric Soares: A characteristically solid if unspectacular display from the recalled right-back. Struggled against Sancho's quick-footed skills. 5

Ben White: Arguably been his side's most reliable defender this season and kept his cool when Arsenal wobbled badly in the second half. 6

Gabriel: Could be accused of switching off to allow Ronaldo to score for United, but an otherwise faultless afternoon. 6

Nuno Tavares: Great awareness to score his first goal for the club after humiliation of poor displays earlier this season. Some comical shooting followed, kamikaze defending from and sloppy handball to concede a penalty. 6

Granit Xhaka: Another step or two towards redemption for the much-maligned midfielder as he rounded off a determined match with a goal worthy of winning any match. 7

Mohamed Elneny: The forgotten Egyptian midfielder proved again he can be an able deputy for the injured Thomas Partey. Solid alongside Xhaka and looked to get forward too. 6

Emile Smith Rowe: A quiet game out on the left from the young England international so no surprise when he was taken off with over 25 minutes to go. 5

Martin Odegaard: A much-improved performance from the Norway captain. Some incisive attacking passes and a couple of shots
