Plateau, Kaduna stand out in Digital Scouting Africa’s football talent search

In their quest to discover the next big talent that will come out of Nigeria and take the world of football by storm, Digital Scouting Africa was in Jos North and Jos South local government areas of Plateau State and the city of Kaduna, in Kaduna State, for the talent identification phase.

Days 2, 3 and 4 of the talent identification phase of Digital Scouting Africa, which commenced on the 23rd and came to an end on the 25th of April, 2024, saw some exciting talents spotted, with Ajester Football Academy producing a large chunk of the players selected from the Jos North centre.

Giving his impression about the level of turnout of players across the various centres visited, Project Coordinator, Talent Identification phase of Digital Scouting Africa, Emmanuel Obi, stated that the exercise has been a very successful one and that he’s been impressed with the quality of talents on parade. In his words: “We have never had doubts in the abundance of talents spread across Nigeria. But what has always been missing is the lack of visibility and the poor football education amongst players at the grassroots level. We have identified these flaws and through the Digital Scouting Africa, we hope to address it.”

A visibly satisfied Mr. Obi, who is a well trained football scout, added: “Since this exercise started, we have been impressed with the quality of talents on parade and we are hoping to still see more talents as we progress with this exercise.”
