Seamoriow Sports launches U-15, U-20 football championships to discover young talent

Oluwaseyi Amos, chairman of Seamoriow Sports Limited, has revealed that his motivation for establishing the sports firm in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State is rooted in his desire to foster football development and provide opportunities for young talent. Alimosho, considered Nigeria’s most populous local government area with an estimated population of about 3-5 million residents, has a significant youth population, highlighting the importance of initiatives that can positively impact their lives.

Amos explained that Seamoriow Sports, founded in 2022, was created to address the lack of adequate facilities and training pitches for aspiring footballers in Alimosho. By offering these young athletes a proper environment to develop their skills, Seamoriow Sports aims to help them compete on par with their peers worldwide.

The Seamoriow Sports Complex, located within the Alimosho area, features a mini football pitch, dressing rooms, referee rooms, a medical centre for players and officials, a VIP lounge, and a functional drainage system. The complex was established as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiative and for commercial purposes, providing a much-needed space for youth sports.

“Seamoriow Sports Complex was set up to provide sporting facilities as a corporate social responsibility and for commercial purposes,” Amos said.

Since its commissioning, the sports facility has hosted several football events, including the Seamoriow U-15 and U-20 championships. These tournaments offer young footballers from the Alimosho area an opportunity to showcase their skills, gain exposure, and potentially attract attention from professional scouts.
