Pirates striker coach Chickelday announces surprise departure after 1 month at club
Orlando Pirates striker coach Scott Chickelday has surprisingly announced his exit from the club after only one month with the Soweto giants.
Chickelday arrived at the club on 5 January, with hopes of diminishing the Buccaneers' goal-scoring woes.
On Sunday evening, via his personal Twitter account, he thanked the club for making him feel involved and the supporters for their warm welcome despite his short stay.
His last game involved with Jose Riveiro's charges was a 1-0 defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday at the iconic Orlando Stadium.
He wrote: "Not the result I wanted in my last game with Orlando Pirates. Competed and dominated for 90 minutes to lose 1-0 against top of the table Masandawana. Thanks to everyone involved with the club and and to the fantastic supporters for making me so welcome! #OnceAlways #upthebucs."

Before his arrival, the Buccaneers were struggling in front of goal as they had one of the lowest goal tallies in the league. However, Chickelday's arrival sparked a significant impact despite only being at the club for a month.
In just four matches, Chickelday's striking wisdom rubbed off the Pirates' attack as they netted 10 goals.
Riveiro always reserved praise for him and it will be interesting to see whether his side will improve on their new found goal-scoring touch or revert back to the side that struggled in the earlier parts of the season.
