PIP points and payment rates full guide as changes made

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has released figures revealing that over 3.5 million adults in Great Britain are now receiving Personal Independence Payment (PIP). Understanding the PIP claims process is essential - and for some people the system is changing.

Awards are determined by the impact of one's condition or disability on their ability to live independently, rather than the condition itself. The DWP emphasises this point in the 2024 edition of the PIP Handbook available online, which comes as Adult Disability Payment (ADP) has replaced all new claims for PIP for people living north of the border.
