PIF now eyeing 'dangerous' speedster for Newcastle this summer; Shearer loves him - report

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Public Investment Fund (PIF) are reportedly now eyeing up a Newcastle United move for Armando Broja in the summer.

Having recently been linked with moves for the likes of Amine Gouiri and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, it is clear that a new striker is wanted at St James’ Park.

Callum Wilson has been plagued by injury problems this season, while Chris Wood has struggled in front of goal, so it would not be a surprise to see another forward walk through the door in the North East.

As per Goal, the Tyneside outfit are among a number of clubs eyeing a move for Broja this summer, with West Ham United, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Napoli also thought to be interested in his signature.

Southampton are also keen on signing the Chelsea star on a permanent deal, following his loan spell this term.

At just 20 years of age, Broja is one of the most promising strikers in the country, as demonstrated by his nine goals in all competitions before today’s round of Premier League fixtures.

Hailed as ‘dangerous‘ by Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl earlier this season, he also has great admirers from the likes of Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp, who recently lauded the Albanian’s ‘incredible pace and strength‘, while Magpies legend Alan Shearer thinks that the youngster has a ‘bright future‘.

Broja has already shown what he can do in the top flight, so he would be a smart buy from the Toon.
