Piers Morgan wants Cristiano Ronaldo to swap Manchester United for Arsenal this summer

Piers Morgan has called on Arsenal to sign Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo this summer. The 37-year-old has one year left on his contract and has been linked with a move away from the club.

Despite a largely forgettable season for United, Ronaldo has excelled since his return to the club; scoring 24 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions. However, his future at Old Trafford appears uncertain with the Red Devils set for a summer overhaul under new manager Erik ten Hag.

Gunners fan Morgan is adamant that the five time Ballon d'Or winner has the right blend of quality and experience to thrive in Mikel Arteta’s side should he leave United. The controversial talk show host tweeted : "I’d be very happy if Arsenal’s forward line next season was @gabimartinelli @EddieNketiah9 and @Cristiano - perfect mix of youth, pace & GOAT class talent/experience.

"And to those who don’t think Ronaldo would come to us, why wouldn’t he? He nearly joined us when he was 18.”

This isn’t the first occasion Morgan has expressed his desire to see Ronaldo join Arsenal. Speaking to talkSPORT last month he revealed his reasons. “If you combined the United talent with our mentality, both clubs would be sorted,” he said. “I'd love, I'm not even joking, to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Arsenal. If he's not going to stay at United, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

"I watched that game at the weekend and he was the best player on the pitch. As a striker, when you watch Ronaldo's movement and his goal scoring record, even at 37, I'd put Ronaldo at the front and let these kids learn from him.

"I don't feel like there's that respect for Ronaldo
