Piers Morgan makes Cristiano Ronaldo point after Manchester United defeat vs Brighton

TV personality Piers Morgan reckons Manchester United have "got even worse" since Cristiano Ronaldo left.

Ronaldo departed United for a second time last December following a bombshell interview with Morgan in which the 38-year-old criticised Erik ten Hag, the Glazer family and several other figures connected with the club. He later moved to Al-Nassr and sparked a sensational transfer exodus to the Saudi Pro League.

Without the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, United returned to the Champions League under Ten Hag and they, also, ended the club's six-year trophy hoodoo. However, things have not gone to plan this season.

Ten Hag's men were humbled by Brighton at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon as goals from ex-United frontman Danny Welbeck, Pascal Gross and Joao Pedro settled the scores. Hannibal Mejbri scored his first senior goal for the club to hand United a consolation, but that late strike proved to be a solitary highlight.

As soon as the final whistle sounded, Morgan wasted no time in sharing his thoughts on social media as the media figure and Arsenal supporter logged onto his X (formerly Twitter) account. He said: "As woeful United are thrashed at home by Brighton, does ANYONE still doubt Cristiano was 100 per cent right about the state of the club and Ten Hag? They've got even worse since Ronaldo left."

Morgan has received a fair amount of traction from his post. However, while some have jumped on board to agree with him, others have taken United and Ten Hag's side.
