Philippe Clement's 3 Rangers changes are 'slap in the face' to Michael Beale as pundit predicts title race

He's sparked new life into Rangers - and Philippe Clement's positive start to life hasn't been deemed a great look for his predecessor.

It's been a strong start to life under the new boss but they find themselves eight points off Celtic in the Premiership with a game in hand heading into the November international break - despite him winning every domestic game played so far. Michael Beale's horror start to the season included defeats to Kilmarnock and Celtic before poor performances were compounded by a 3-1 defeat to Aberdeen.

That was enough for the Rangers board to pull the trigger and former defender Craig Moore think it's the energy, desire and work ethic in Clement's team that has been the biggest difference between the two gaffers so far. And it isn't a great reflection for Beale amid a new mentality being discovered. He told Go Radio: "Rangers, you can see clear signs of improvement but what I would say is they haven't been playing amazing football.

"The difference, which for me is a bit of a slap in the face for Michael Beale, is energy, desire, willingness to work.. That clearly wasn't the situation in the backend of Michael Beale's time.

"That should be a given. With a new manager coming in, the clean slate, normal situation with the new manager. Rangers have found an energy and a mentality that has enabled them to go on and win games of football.

"At this moment in time it's not been by playing amazing football. It's being professional and getting the job done. I think that can only grow as the season kicks on, and I think it will be a title race."
