Philippe Clement brutally trolled on Celtic TV commentary as Rangers boss hit with 'moral victory' jab

Peter Grant and the Celtic TV commentary team couldn't resist sticking the boot into Rangers after their derby day win as they brutally trolled Philippe Clement.

Brendan Rodgers' men have one hand on the Scottish Premiership after seeing off the 10-man Light Blues at Celtic Park to move six points clear at the top of the table with just two games remaining. Celtic boast a superior goal difference but a point against Kilmarnock or St Mirren in their final two league fixtures will keep the Premiership crown in Glasgow's east end.

And with the title all-but secure, former Celtic midfield hero Grant and the commentary team were in jubilant mood as they referred to Clement's comments following the derby day draw at Ibrox last month. After Rabbi Matondo netted a late equaliser in the 3-3 thriller, the Belgian boss declared his side were "clearly moral winners" from the Old Firm contest.

As the Celtic players celebrated with a lap of honour, Grant joked on air: "Do you get three points for a moral victory? I don't know if that still counts. At least we get the victory and the three points." Co-commentator Gerry McCulloch replied: "Unfortunately for some, not."

Following the draw last month, Clement said: "There are moments I can say what I said at half time, it's better that I not say it now - that is between me and the dressing room. I am happy about the reaction, they showed personality.

"And I think at the end we are clearly moral winners of this fight, of this game - with a lot of passion, everything the supporters want, everything this club is about, they showed in the second half. And that they need to show in the next couple of weeks in every challenge we have."
