Phil Jones reveals what Erik ten Hag has changed at Manchester United

Manchester United defender Phil Jones has praised Reds boss Erik ten Hag for the positive changes he has made at the club since he was appointed manager.

The Dutch coach began his reign as Reds boss prior to the start of this season, but he endured a difficult start to the campaign after losing to Brighton and Brentford. Despite this, United have been impressive in recent months and are currently the only side in England still competing on all four fronts.

Jones, who has not featured for the first team this term, has lauded the impact Ten Hag has had at Old Trafford, with United now back competing at the top end of the Premier League table.

The English defender suggested that the Reds manager made it clear what he wanted from his players on the day he arrived, before praising the former Ajax chief for making everyone feel valued.

When asked what Ten Hag has changed at United since he joined last year, Jones replied: "I just think he knew what he wanted from the lads straight from the word go. I think he has given everyone a value at the club, everyone feels valued, everyone feels like they have got a place and that they're going to play.

"He's utilised the squad when he's needed to and it's been successful so far. I mean, bar the first couple of games of the season, I think they have had a strong season and hopefully they can get their first trophy today."

United look well-placed to finish inside the top four of the Premier League this season, and they will also be hoping to progress in the Europa League after overcoming Barcelona in their play-off tie.
