Marcus Rashford could extend impressive Manchester United record vs Real Betis

Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford will be looking to extend his goalscoring record in Spain when the Reds take on Real Betis in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Erik ten Hag's side travel to the Benito Villamarin Stadium for the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie with Betis. United boast the advantage after securing a 4-1 victory at Old Trafford last week. Rashford, Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst were all on target for the home side in the first leg.

Rashford, who has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 25 goals in 42 matches, is already United's all-time leading scorer in Spain, but the England ace will have the opportunity to extend his record against Betis in midweek.

The 25-year-old scored his first goal in Spain back in 2017 - a stunning free-kick in a 1-0 win over Celta Vigo in a Europa League semi-final first-leg clash. His effort curled away from the diving Sergio Alvarez, who could do nothing to prevent it from hitting the back of the net.

The following year, Rashford was on the scoresheet again in a 2-1 defeat to Valencia in the Champions League. His header pulled a goal back for United at the Mestalla after a Carlos Soler opener and an own goal by Phil Jones. Despite the defeat, Jose Mourinho's side still qualified for the knockout stages.

Rashford's third goal in Spain came in a 2-0 victory at Granada during the 2020/21 campaign. The England international got on the end of a Victor Lindelof pass and finished past Rui Silva. Fernandes was also on the scoresheet with a 90th-minute penalty.

His most recent strike in Spain came at Camp Nou, with the Reds ace helping United draw 2-2
