Phil Foden fires Manchester City warning to Arsenal and Liverpool in Premier League title race

Phil Foden has sent an indirect message to Manchester City's Premier League title rivals Arsenal and Liverpool following the FA Cup win over Newcastle. A first-half brace from Bernardo Silva at Etihad Stadium was enough for Man City to secure a spot in the semi-finals.

Following yet another victory, Man City are now unbeaten in their last 22 games with defeat to Aston Villa back in December the last time they were unable to secure a positive result. Foden's form has been key in Pep Guardiola's side winning 19 times in that run with the England international picking up 18 goals and ten assists during the 2023/24 campaign.

In the absence of Kevin De Bruyne, Foden has been allowed to thrive in a central role however he has continued to impress even when pushed out wide. After the 3-1 win against Manchester United, Guardiola made quite the claim about the 23-year-old following his Manchester Derby brace.

"Right now, he is the best (in the league)," Guardiola said. "To be world class you have to win games. He’s winning games. Always he scored goals but now he’s winning games. When you do this you reach another level as a player.

"He will already be a legendary player because at his age, the games played, the minutes, the goals scored, the titles won and he is from here and that is why the connection with the fans is unbelievable.
