'Petty' Rangers fans get it in the neck as Celtic guard of honour debate sends the Hotline into meltdown

The title race might not be on the line at Ibrox but there’s still plenty for Old Firm fans to bicker over.

Guards of honour, penalty kicks, signings, you name it, Celtic and Rangers will lock horns over the lot. And while the points won't matter this lunchtime, the pride and bragging rights are always on the line. John Joe Higgins emailed: “What is the problem with giving the league winners a guard of honour for their first game as champions? Surely this is a gesture of true sportsmanship and not being petty, the title was won over the long haul and the winning teams should be congratulated.”

Gers haven’t conceded a spot kick in the league all season and Robert McEwan, Mount Vernon, said: “You have to congratulate the Rangers defence. It’s an incredible statistic, and it makes you wonder how they managed to win zilch.”
