Ange's Rangers challenge factor that could mean Tottenham get snubbed as Celtic boss tipped to tell rivals 'bring it on'

Ange Postecoglou will be at Celtic next season because he 'wants the challenge of Rangers,' according to former Parkhead defender John Hughes.

The Australian has been heavily linked with the vacant managerial role at Tottenham Hotspur after a number of managers turned down the opportunity to work under chairman Daniel Levy. Spurs have been on the look out for a new boss after Antonio Conte left North London earlier this season following a number of poor results. Feyenoord boss Arne Slot has been the latest head coach to rule himself out of the running, and now attention has turned to Postecoglou.

Celtic can clinch the domestic treble in Scotland on Saturday afternoon if they are able to overcome Inverness Caley Thistle at Hampden in the Scottish Cup final. Despite the speculation Postecoglou has said he is fully focused on the game at the national stadium after securing the league title and the Viaplay Cup.

Michael Beale's Rangers side are set for a huge revamp this summer and will look to close the gap to the Hoops at the top of the league. Hughes believes Postecoglou will be well up for the challenge and will remain in the east end of Glasgow.

The former Inverness boss told the BBC: "Will he be there next year? 100 per cent.

"I think he wants the challenge of Rangers and I think he knows there's going to be a bigger challenge from Rangers and Michael Beale. I think he's like that, 'bring it on, bring it on. I'll take up that challenge.'"
