Peter Wright's saucy Premier League Darts get up has Sheffield flavour fans are loving

Peter Wright may have had a Premier League Darts season to forget on the playing side this campaign.

But the Scot is still putting on a show in more ways than one with his nod to hosts Sheffield not going unnoticed this evening. Snakebite was first on the oche with teen sensation Luke Littler and put in a more spirited display in the quarter-final clash with the table topper - who confirmed top position in the league phase - but went down 6-4 as he stayed rooted to the bottom. As he made his way out to the big stage, Wright's outfit and colour choice caught the eye and earned rave reviews on social media.

Why is that you ask? Well, Wright appeared in the colours of a Henderson's Relish bottle, made in Sheffield. Their website describes the product as: "The spicy table sauce made in Sheffield since 1885. Splash it on pies, in stews, over chips, cheese on toast and more. Henderson’s Relish is approved by the Vegetarian Society as suitable for vegans, and is gluten free."

His shirt displayed the slogan 'Strong & Northern' - the same that is found on the bottles of the sauce and fans were quick to pick up on the deliberate nod on his get up. One fan posted: "Massive fan of Peter Wright's Henderson's Relish shirt tonight in Sheffield."

Another commented: "Peter Wright dressed as a bottle of Hendo's." A further punter wrote: Peter Wright with the Hendo's shirt on, now that's playing to the crowd."

His entertainment factor drew comparisons to former professional football Jimmy Bullard with one darts fan writing: "Peter Wright is the Jimmy Bullard of darts. Just there to entertain the crowd."
