Peter Leven insists Aberdeen FC job offer only has one answer and anyone who doesn't give it is CRAZY

Peter Leven reckons any manager would be crazy to turn down the Aberdeen job.

The Dons hierarchy have come under fire for not appointing a new boss during the international break. Talks are ongoing with a top target but Leven, who is in charge for today’s game with Ross County, is adamant that Aberdeen is a sleeping giant of a club and people will be desperate for the job.

Leven said: “Any manager looking at this job would be crazy not to take it, it’s a massive club with huge potential. We were in Europe at the start of the season, we beat Frankfurt at home and performed well in those European games. We’ve been in one cup final and have another Scottish Cup semi coming up. So anyone looking at this job, they’d be crazy not to take it. There’s massive potential here, the club is a sleeping giant.”

The feeling is that a number of managers may be being put off by Aberdeen’s current league position. They are just three points ahead of second-bottom Ross County, who they face today. Leven has made it clear he will hold the fort as long as it takes.

“I have always said to the club I’m happy to step in when they need me,” he stated. “I said to my missus the other day, the amount of people who want to be Aberdeen manager means it’s a privilege for me so I’m just going to enjoy it for as long as I’m sitting here.

“That’s the way to approach it, you get to a certain age and look back thinking what you’ve done and a lot of people would have jumped at the chance to be Aberdeen manager. So I’m delighted to be here in interim charge and I’m looking forward to getting on with it.”

Leven is highly-rated at Aberdeen and will remain as part of any new managerial set-up. He confirmed: “I think I’ll remain as part of the backroom staff
