Peter Hook & The Light announce three-night ‘homecoming residency' at the Albert Hall

Peter Hook has announced a three night ‘homecoming residency’ at the Albert Hall for his band Peter Hook & The Light. The former New Order and Joy Division bass player will hit the iconic Peter Street venue in April, 2023.

The announcement comes ahead of Hook's Joy Division Orchestrated concert that takes place at the Manchester Apollo on Friday night. The newly-announced gig dates will see Hooky and band playing a whole album in full on each night.

April 6 will see them playing 1979’s Unknown Pleasures and New Order’s Movement from 1981. The next night, April 7, will see Joy Division’s 1980 album Closer and New Order’s 1983 set Power, Corruption & Lies.

Then on the final night, they will play both Joy Division and New Order’s albums Substance - both singles compilation albums released by Factory in 1987 and 1988, and featuring the biggest hits from both bands.

New Order’s Substance was originally conceived by Factory icon Tony Wilson as a way to listen to all of the band’s hits on one CD in his new Jaguar. It features classics like True Faith, Temptation and Blue Monday.

It became the band’s best-selling album, selling two million copies in the US alone. Joy Division’s Substance, meanwhile, features classics like Warsaw, She’s Lost Control, Atmosphere and Love Will Tear Us Apart.

Fans wanting to go to all three shows will be able to buy one of just 300 ‘season’ tickets, which will come with a commemorative lanyard and laminate unique to the three concerts.

Tickets for the gigs are now on sale at 10am from TicketWeb.
