Perthshire golf talent Connor Graham relishing Jacques Léglise Trophy test at home club Blairgowrie

Connor Graham would love a bumper home crowd at this month’s prestigious Jacques Léglise Trophy.

The Perthshire golfing talent has earned Great Britain and Ireland selection for the high-profile under-18 fixture against Continent of Europe across August 26 and 27.

Teeing-up an extra special two days of action is the fact that the event is being held at Blairgowrie - the home club of Graham - over the Rosemount course.

The 15-year-old, who was also selected last year, is going for glory alongside Josh Berry, Josh Hill, Frank Kennedy, Oliver Mukherjee, Dylan Shaw-Radford, Niall Shiels, Harley Smith and Tyler Weaver.

Graham explained to the PA: “We’re going to have a strong team because it’s the best in Great Britain and Ireland.

“We know it will be a tough match but we should have a good chance of winning. I know a few of the guys on the European team and it’s always good to play against the best.

“Golf is a very individual sport so it’s also great fun playing in this team environment.”

Graham, who represented Scotland at the men’s Home Internationals earlier this month, is relishing the chance to impress on a course so very familiar to him.

“I’ll know the golf course the best out of those there. I think that will help the team. I’m sure we’ll all have a chat about the course when everyone arrives.

“I don’t think many of them will have played at Blairgowrie before.”

Boasting two top 18-hole courses - as well as the Wee Course - Graham has always found his best scoring to come on Rosemount.

“Lansdowne is very tight and long, so I’d say Rosemount is the easier to score
