Pep Guardiola told what Man City can't do ahead of Arsenal fixture

Former Tottenham and Republic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane does not believe Manchester City are in a position to prioritise one of the Premier League or Champions League this season.

City are currently second in the table heading into a huge title showdown with Arsenal at the Emirates on Wednesday night. The outcome of that match could have a huge say in who wins the league given a defeat for City would leave them six points adrift of the Gunners having played a game more.

Pep Guardiola's side are also challenging on the European front and will be keen to claim a maiden Champions League title, with City in last 16 action against in-form Bundesliga outfit Red Bull Leipzig next week. It means the defending Premier League champions must strike a balance over the coming weeks.

And former LA Galaxy striker Keane, speaking to Betway, does not believe City can focus on one competition over another.

"Manchester City are challenging on multiple fronts at the moment, and it’s going to be a big few months for them on and off the pitch," said the ex-La Galaxy forward. "I’m not sure what will happen to them, but it’s going to be interesting to see given what is being reported.

They aren’t in great form at the moment, so are unlikely to be in a position to prioritise the Premier League or Champions League over one another. If you ask any player, they just want to play games anyway. I don’t think they mind when it gets busy towards the end of the season. The scheduling is more of a headache for the manager. The big games are what everyone looks forward to. The more of them, the better."
