Pep Guardiola takes responsibility for worrying Man City signs

Pep Guardiola admitted that change is needed at Manchester City to return to winning ways after a third Premier League defeat of the season.

Leon Bailey's deflected effort at Villa Park was enough to inflict a 1-0 loss on the defending champions and extend their winless run to four matches. They sit fourth in the table, six points behind leaders Arsenal and only three ahead of neighbours United.

Guardiola gave full credit to Aston Villa for the victory but saw his team fail to win another match that in previous years he thinks they would have done. Whatever issues are around the squad, the manager has placed the responsibility for finding a solution squarely on his own shoulders.

"It's my duty, my job to find a way to come back the situation because over many years together we were able to find a way to play games - sometimes playing good, sometimes not but always we found a way to do it - and now we are struggling," he said. "We have to change the dynamic, winning as soon as possible against Luton and Crystal Palace to continue to be there.

"I have to think about it. The dynamic changes by winning games but to win games we have to reflect what we have to do with the players that we have.

"The way we played in the past we won but today we are not able. When we are not top, we are not consistent enough to win the games.

"I have to think about it. I have to sleep, to see the games, to reflect, and try to do it.
