Pep Guardiola outlines Manchester United's biggest threat and Man City plan to stop it in FA Cup final

Manchester City will make the FA Cup final uncomfortable for rivals Manchester United, Pep Guardiola says, as the manager told his players to be wary of their opponent's counter-attacking threats.

City were ruthless in their 6-3 home win over United in the Premier League this season, but were beaten 2-1 at Old Trafford, setting up an enticing FA Cup final between the sides. Guardiola said he had watched back that league defeat in preparation for the final, and felt his side played well, but knows they must be wary of United's threat on the transitions.

Urging City to stand firm when under pressure, before making life difficult for United, Guardiola previewed the kind of game he expected in a historic final.

"In finals there are moments, there is not just one direction. Because opponents are good, emotions are there," he said. "We try to play a game where we feel most comfortable in the team or lineup we play. Sometimes we want to play one way and we are not able to do it.

"A final, especially I want to see a team in uncomfortable moments, maybe when we don't feel good, to be stable, we have time, keep going. Not complaining much and go to the next action. A final is more stronger in mentality issues.
