Pendrith takes lead ahead of CJ Cup finale

Back-to-back eagles helped propel Canada's Taylor Pendrith to the top of the leaderboard heading into the final day of The CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

Starting the day tied for fifth place, Pendrith followed a birdie on the second hole with eagles on the fifth and sixth and another birdie on the ninth to hit the turn on six under.

He picked up two more shots on the back nine to improve to 19 under par for the tournament.

Pendrith leads by one stroke from American Jake Knapp, who carded a four under 67 on Saturday in Texas.

England's Matt Wallace sits in third place on 17 under after also carding a 67.

A bogey on the par four 16th was the sole blemish on the day for Wallace, who closed out his round with two straight birdies to keep himself in the hunt
