Peamount's Sadhbh Doyle scoops Player of the Year award

Peamount United's Sadhbh Doyle won the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division Player of the Year award at a ceremony dominated by the Dublin club on Thursday night.

Doyle came out on top in a category that also included her clubmates Karen Duggan and Erin McLaughlin.

As well as that, James O'Callaghan won the Manager of the Year award after leading the Peas to the title, while goalkeeper Niamh Reid-Burke won the Bank of Ireland Golden Gloves award at the Clontarf Castle event.

Club administrators Katie Thompson and Elaine Harrington were recognised with the Services to Women's Football Award, alongside Wexford Youths Secretary Dave Cassin.

Doyle and Reid-Burke were among five Peamount players included in the Women's Premier Division Team of the Year, alongside Duggan, McLaughlin and Jetta Berrill.

Joining them in the selection were Dana Scheriff, an Women's FAI Cup winner with Athlone Town, along with Shelbourne duo Maggie Pierce and Megan Smyth-Lynch, as well as Shamrock Rovers pair Lia O'Leary and Jessica Hennessy.

O'Leary claimed the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division Young Player of the Year Award, while Scherriff went home with the EVOKE.ie Golden Boot award.

Wexford Youths forward Ceola Bergin and Athlone Town defender Mary Philips won the EA SPORTS League of Ireland Academy Player of the Year Awards for Under-19 and Under-17 level respectively.
