Paulo Dybala to Roma: Jose Mourinho has serious squad depth for 2022/23

Paulo Dybala will be playing his football at AS Roma next season.

After deciding not to extend his stay at Juventus, the Argentina forward has now opted to join forces with Jose Mourinho in the Italian capital.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Dybala will put pen to paper on a three-year deal and there’s no denying that it’s a huge signing for Roma – one which won’t cost them a penny in transfer fees either.

While the former Palermo forward has struggled with injuries to a degree over the past few years, he’s still one of the very best in the business when fully fit.

In 293 games for Juventus, Dybala (who’s worth £31.5m on Transfermarkt) scored 115 goals and assisted a further 48. He also won 12 trophies in Turin and was named Serie A’s Most Valuable Player for the 2019/20 season.

The 28-year-old is Roma’s fourth major signing of the summer thus far. Nemanja Matic and Mile Svilar joined on free transfers from Manchester United and Benfica, while Zeki Celik was snapped up from Lille in a deal worth around €7 million.

Even if the Giallorossi don’t complete anymore acquisitions for the remainder of the window, their squad depth going into the 2022/23 season looks hugely impressive.

You might even say it’s got ‘Serie A title challengers’ written all over it…
