Paul Scholes joins Brendan Rodgers sexism debate with 'f*** right off' bathtub verdict

Paul Scholes has weighed in on the Brendan Rodgers sexism debate, telling the world it needs to "f*** right off" while apparently sitting in the bath.

The Manchester United legend was watching a talkSPORT debate on YouTube discussing Rodgers' controversial post-match interview after Celtic's 3-1 victory over Motherwell. The Irishman said that a story had already been written about his team this season but that they planned to write their own. When asked what he meant by that, he told the journalist she already knew, asked if they were done and signed off with "good girl."

Rodgers has received backing from the likes of former Celtic striker Chris Sutton and compatriot and TV host Eamonn Holmes, who claimed that people in Northern Ireland say "good girl" all the time. However, Rodgers has also taken plenty of flak, with the Scottish Feminist Network branding him a "dinosaur" with another group demanding he apologise.

And this is what Scholes has apparently taken issue with. Posting a pic of a TV screen that seems to be in his bathroom, TalkSport host Simon Jordan and Jim White are on screen with Rebekah Chapman from the Scottish Feminist Network.

And Scholes posted a screenshot to his Instagram story with the caption: "This world needs to f*** right off...bye!" Scholes is clearly at odds with the SFN, who said: "Jane Lewis was just doing her job, trying to extract an explanation from Brendan Rodgers on his cryptic comment.

"That the go-to attitude was condescension is quite illuminating, but really very depressing in 2024. We thought dinosaurs were extinct."
