Paul Robinson picks out winner as Sheffield United prepare for Nottingham Forest clash

Sheffield United host Nottingham Forest in the first leg of the semi-final of the Championship play-offs tomorrow afternoon. 

The Blades will then visit The City Ground on Tuesday evening, with the winner across the two legs setting up a Wembley trip, where either Luton Town or Huddersfield Town will be waiting. 

The Reds have enjoyed an excellent campaign under Steve Cooper’s stewardship, taking charge when the Reds were sitting at the bottom of the Championship pile. 

Sheffield United, who were also underperforming before Paul Heckingbottom managed to turn things around, enter the play-offs after an excellent 4-0 victory over title winners Fulham. 

Issuing his verdict on who will be victorious across the two legs, former England international Paul Robinson said to Betfred: “I don’t think Sheffield United will have any thoughts about that. 

“Sheffield United have suffered a lot of injuries and suspensions this season but they come into this game unbeaten in their last four games, winning three and drawing one because they had to. 

“They’ve secured a huge win against Fulham, granted we already knew that Fulham were champions by that point, but they’ve got the momentum going into this game because they had to win to get themselves into the play-offs. 

“Forest have eased off a bit and they’ve drawn one and lost one in their previous two coming into this game. If you’re looking at momentum then Sheffield United have got that. 

“Both sides are carrying four players out who would have usually played in this fixture. Sheffield United are defensively strong and Nottingham Forest may have a hard time breaking them down.
